Fortnite Battle Royale has been an incredible success for Epic Games since day one. Crossing over 45 million player count just in a few months. The game has been the eye of almost every gamer and day by day the influence of this game is taking over all of the current top-tier titles like PUBG and CSGO.
FORTNITE BATTLE ROYALE IS COMING TO iOS AND ANDROID WITH FULL CROSS PLAY SUPPORT WITH PS4 AND PC
The port is coming to both phones and tablets, and Epic Games promises that it will be same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac, with the same gameplay, content, maps, and weekly updates as the console and PC versions. Users will be able to sign up for an iOS beta starting on March 12th, with invites rolling out shortly afterward. Players who get an invitation will also get several invites to send to friends as well. Android support is planned for farther down the line in the next few months.
Both mobile versions will even offer cross-play, including the ability to maintain progression across platforms, with the Mac, PC and PlayStation 4 versions. And iOS users will be able to take on Android owners when the latter version is available.
One thing which is worth mentioning is that the cross-platform fun is missing for the Xbox One. Epic Games’ blog post does mention that the cross-platform function is “in partnership with our friends at Sony,” which may explain the Microsoft snub here. On a purely technical level, we already know that cross-play between Xbox One and PS4 consoles in Fortnite is completely possible.
Starting from March 12
Over the next few months, Epic Games will allow small numbers of players into the game in regular batches as part of an invite event process. Registering on the game’s official website will get you on the email list; players who receive invite codes will then be able to share them with friends. This will open on Monday, March 12.
The addition of cross-platform in a game like Fortnite can make all the differences for the future of gaming, games like Fortnite Battle Royale that are popular on a wide scale will force other multiplayer game-developers to implement cross-platform across their games as well. This is a revolutionary step taken by Epic Games in the history of gaming development.
