Latest Google Pixel 3 Leak In Android P Beta Shows A Display Without A Notch
A few days ago, Google’s Android P Beta unveiled some interesting details about the Pixel lineup for 2018. Tentatively referred to as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Google normally uses generational betas in order to test upcoming Pixel launches, as both the Pixel and Pixel 2 lineups confirmed this phenomenon. It seems like Google is back at it again.
Some recent discoveries in the Android P Beta suggested that the Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL might also be featuring a display cutout. An investigation revealed that Android P includes support for display cutouts which led to the assumption that Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 Xl might also feature a display cutout. However, this leak is in contrast to the speculation above.
Few images directly from Android P suggest that Google will not embrace a notch for their Pixel 3 lineup. You might be thinking that the images above may represent a generic design for demonstration purposes but, that might not be the case. These images are the only ones that carry this particular, notch-less design. As this alone is not enough to authenticate the credibility but, it sure helps.
Currently, we have very few details about the Pixel 3 lineup except for some speculation about the display notch. If this leak turns out to be authentic, then Google will not choose to use a display cutout on its 2018 smartphone lineup. Although, such a decision could possibly leave the company with some interesting design problems. Such as one where they will have to choose between either bezels or a notch.
