What is broadband?

In telecommunications, broadband is wide bandwidth data transmission which transports multiple signals and traffic types. The medium can be coaxial cable, optical fiber, radio or twisted pair.

Broadband is a type of high-speed internet connection that has surpassed dial-up as the standard way to connect to the internet.

Broadband packages come in all shapes and sizes, from ADSL broadband to cable broadband and 3G and 4G mobile broadband.

A broadband connection, like a telephone line, is never switched off and can be accessed at any time.

That’s not all, the speed doubles during the night (2:30AM to 9:00AM), even for the 200mbps package. Those who pay for the whole year upfront also get additional discounts on the monthly bill.

WorldCall

Worldcall is an old player in the Pakistani ISP market, however, the company has now restricted its consumer services to just Lahore and Karachi.

Of all the ISPs, world call is the cheapest in terms of their rates but still, they provide a reliable data connection.

Qubee was launched in 2007. It covers Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. It offers prepaid, postpaid, SME and Youth packages. Qubee is not as much reputed as other ISPs and they have limited service areas as well. Most of the Qubee users are not switching to other ISPs due to better customer support and services.

COMSATS Internet Services

CIS is connected with CIIT (COMSATS Institute of Information Technology) and covers all major cities of Pakistan. It has been working in Pakistan for past 18 years. It is considered on of the reliable ISPs in the country, but for some reason their services and packages are limited and people are switching.

Which is the BEST INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER IN PAKISTAN?

Well, we haven’t tested all of the ISPs personally, but based on user experience and reviews, NAYATEL is considered as the best internet service provider in Pakistan. CIS is connected with CIIT (COMSATS Institute of Information Technology) and covers all major cities of Pakistan. The only thing is they have their limited coverage area in Pakistan only in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and its neighboring areas.

So, we give the winning medal to PTCL, because of their all countrywide reach, even in far-flung areas, reasonable speed and prices. But PTCL is falling behind due to recent rise of better ISPs in the country and it is only a matter of time PTCL will be forgotten if private ISPs expand their reach throughout the country.
