For these past two years, RAMs have been extremely pricey due to mobiles using DDR4 chips, and they had much demand from the users. So, in 2017 the price of 16GB of DDR4 RAM went from $69.99 to $199.99.

DRAMeXchange stated in late 2018 that due to the slow sales of mobile phones that use DDR4 chips and decreasing rate of Intel CPUs production, the prices of RAMs would drop significantly. Fortunately, the prices began to fall in late 2018 till now, and they are now sold for a reasonable price.

The prices have dropped on Amazon as well on NewEgg and OutletPC. So, if you needed an extra RAM stick then now is the time to get them.
