Sharp, a well recognized Japenese company which has been in the industry with it’s Aquos line-up for quite a while now and 1 year ago, Sharp released the Aquos Sharp R. A phone with tiny camera notch on the top and a huge bezel below for the front fingerprint sensor/home button. The Aquos sharp R looked like this :
Many complained about the phone is being ugly due to the massive bezel on the bottom of the phone, and this year nothing’s much changed. The company has gone through a different solution to expand the screen area while having the fingerprint sensor, and the solution is that Sharp has put another notch on the bottom of the phone, which looks really awkward and bad in my opinion and it beholds the fingerprint sensor.
Sharp Aquos R2 Compact features a 5.2-inch 2280 x 1080 IGZO LCD 120 Hz display that covers the whole screen except the camera notch and the fingerprint notch.
The phone itself belongs to the short category of compact 2018 Android flagships (joining the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact) and no matter how ugly the phone seems, it’s still powered on by the top specs. Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with a 4 GB ram and 64 GB Internal storage and a 2500 mAh battery. The Aquos R2 Compact will ship with Android 9.0 pie.
The Aquos R2 Compact will start selling out via Softbank in Japan in early 2019, and Sharp is also planning to release a sim-free version of this phone.
