Oppo Reno is an upcoming smartphone which will cost you around 68,000 PKR in Pakistan and about 460 US dollars. According to leaks, it will come up with 6 GB of RAM and will have up to 128 GB internal storage. The phone will operate on Android 9 Pie Operating System and will be powered by Snapdragon 710 chip-set. The hand-set will contain dual rear camera setup along with an excellent selfie-shooter. This smartphone expected to be equipped with large 4000 mAh battery capacity. We will look into this model in detail.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

The new Oppo Reno will have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display instead of a 6.6-inch one, but this sticks with the resolution of 1,080 x 2,340. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 6.

The display is very bright and colors seem to pop at full brightness or near full brightness. The phone will be available in Black and Green color as it launches but we believe that company may produce more colors after its launch. As in other Reno devices the standard handset has the shark fin pop-up when the front camera is activated and after activation it rises in 0.8 seconds and is pretty absolute in operation to be honest and we did not expect that either. It is also very strong and if you press it, it will retract. As we have mentioned before, Oppo believes it will last for 200,000 uses at least that equals to five years of being popped up which lead to hundred times a day. What do you think will you take that much selfies?

SPECIFICATIONS

Processor

The Reno is based around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor as opposed to the higher-end 855 in the 10x Zoom and 5G. We also found the handset is quick and responsive.

Storage

You will be able to get Reno in 128 or 256GB versions. We also came to a conclusion that the handset does not have an SD card slot for expandable storage. Interestingly, Reno has a headphone jack, unlike it’s more expensive sibling partners. Manufacturers still believe that it is a mid-ranged phone.

Battery

If we talk about its battery, it has 4000 mAh battery will power you through a day in general observation. Although there’s no wireless charging on this device, but we do know that Oppo’s fast VOOC charge does charge very well.

Camera

If we look into the camera, there’s the same 16 Megapixel front camera, but instead of the tri camera and 10x zoom lens you get a dual camera instead which will be a priority for most users. The dual camera setup includes the same 48 Megapixel primary lens (f1.7) using Sony’s IMX586 sensor but the second is a 5 Megapixel (f2.4) unit. There is a 4K 30fps video recording feature also available. The photos took from this device were good but we cannot give a decision about it because lightening of the room was different.

RELEASE

This device is expected to release earlier in June,2019. So stay tuned to us for more thorough review of this device as more information reaches us out after its launch.
