We often see videos and photos of Cellphones blowing up. Companies often relate these blast to bad chargers and batteries. Sometimes the phone is also at fault, but in most cases, the customer is doing something wrong.

Redmi Note 7 Exploded in India
A few weeks ago, a Xiaomi customer from Gurgoan had his phone blew up after using it for 2-3 months only. The person Vikesh Kumar had a Redmi Note 7 Pro, which he purchased in December. Vikesh said that his phone was getting extremely hot in his pocket, after which he took it out and saw some smokes.

Additionally, his Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro was charged up to 90%. Vikesh kept the phone in his office bag as it had gotten really hot, afterward it blew up in the same bag. According to Vikesh Kumar, he was only a few meters away from the phone and had it blown in 5minutes time, he could have damaged himself.

This incident was then taken to the Xiaomi service center, who analyzed the issue and blamed Vikesh for the blast. Afterward, the customer got really sad over the criticism and response from Xiaomi and shared his news on social media. He wrote in his post that he was using the original charger, and service is asking him 50% of the price if he wants a replacement. The post got a lot of engagements and Xiaomi officials from other centers stepped up and helped him.

According to Xiaomi, the device was physically damaged, which had further damaged battery and put it at risk. The company did not go into detail if he was offered a refund or replacement, but in a statement, it said “The case has been resolved amicably with the customer, ensuring full satisfaction of the consumer. We deeply care for our consumers and are providing all necessary assistance. Our smartphones are complex machines and call for careful usage. While they have undoubtedly become safer, it’s always better to take all the necessary precautions that can cause actual physical damage”.
